How it works
One workflow of your operating system
Your operating system as a product manager is the set of workflows that run your week. This is one of them: product conversations turned into decisions and follow-through.
Asking your notetaker for action items is a task. This is the workflow.
Use it
Four steps, every time.
- 1.Open a new chat.
- 2.Paste the transcript, your notes or the thread.
- 3.Type follow-through and press enter.
- 4.Read Close these before you send first.
What comes back
Every decision with its owner, its reason and the line that proves it. A follow-ups table ready for Jira or Linear. Every gap flagged, never guessed. From the made-up example in the download:

- The Follow-Through is a free Claude skill and one workflow of a product manager's operating system. It turns a product conversation into decisions, owners, assumptions, open questions and follow-ups, and lists every gap nobody closed, such as an action with no owner or a decision with no reason.
- How do I get decisions and action items out of a meeting transcript with Claude?
- Install The Follow-Through skill, open a new Claude chat, paste the transcript and type follow-through. Claude returns each decision with its owner, reason and supporting quote, a follow-ups table, and a list of questions to close before you send anything. It works on notes and Slack threads as well as transcripts.
- How is this different from my notetaker's action items?
- A notetaker summarises what was discussed and lists likely actions. The Follow-Through separates decisions from discussion, records the reason and the assumptions behind each decision, and refuses to fill gaps. Where nobody took an action or gave a reason, it says so and turns it into a question, so gaps get closed instead of guessed.
- Does it need access to Jira, Linear or my notetaker?
- No. It has no connections and no dependencies. It works only on the text you paste into your Claude chat. The follow-ups come back as a plain table you can copy into Jira, Linear or a document yourself.
- Is my meeting data sent anywhere?
- The skill itself sends nothing anywhere. It runs inside your own Claude conversation, under the same data settings as the rest of your Claude account. Check your company's policy before pasting confidential conversations into any AI tool.
